How ElevenMaps handles your birth details, email and cookies: what we collect, why, how long we keep it and your rights under the GDPR.
Last updated: 3 November 2026
ElevenMaps creates astrocartography maps and reports from your birth details. This policy explains which personal data we collect, why, how long we keep it and what your rights are under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Hamza, trading as ElevenMaps. Contact: contact@elevenmaps.com.
What we collect
- Birth details: date of birth, time of birth (optional) and place of birth, which you enter to create your map or report.
- Contact details: your email address, and your name if you give it.
- Order details: the products you buy, the price and the order date. Payment is handled by Payhip and its payment providers; we never see or store your full card details.
- Usage data: pages visited and basic device information, only if you accept analytics cookies.
Why we use it and on what legal basis
- To create your free map: your consent, given with the checkbox on the form. The birth details are used for that calculation only and are not stored.
- To create and deliver a report you buy, answer questions and handle refunds: performance of our contract with you.
- To send our email newsletter and offers: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.
- To keep accounting records: our legal obligations.
- To measure and improve the website with analytics and the Pinterest tag: your consent through the cookie banner.
Your birth details
Birth details are personal. We use them only to calculate your map and write your report. We delete the raw birth details once your map or report has been delivered, unless you choose to keep them on file for future reports. When we use an AI service to help write the text of your report, we send it the calculated planetary lines and places, not your raw birth details. The birth place you type is matched against a place list stored on our own server and is not sent to any third party.
How long we keep your data
- Raw birth details and the email used for delivery: erased as soon as your report is delivered. If a delivery fails we keep them for at most 14 days so we can retry, then erase them. You can ask us to keep your birth details on file for future reports.
- Email address for the newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Order and invoice records: 10 years, as required by French accounting law.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months.
Who processes your data for us
We use the following providers. Each one only processes data on our instructions and under a data processing agreement.
- Hostinger (website hosting, European Union)
- Contabo (map and report calculation server, European Union)
- MailerLite (email delivery and newsletter, European Union)
- Payhip and its payment providers (checkout and payment, United Kingdom)
- Anthropic (AI text generation for reports, United States)
- Google Analytics (website statistics, only with your consent, United States)
- Pinterest (advertising measurement, only with your consent, United States)
When data goes outside the European Union, the transfer is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission or by the Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file stored in your browser. These are all the cookies the website uses:
- em_consent (ElevenMaps, 6 months): remembers your cookie choice. Strictly necessary; it is set only when you answer the cookie banner.
- _ga and _ga_* (Google Analytics, up to 12 months): count visits and show which pages help. Only if you accept. We switch off Google’s advertising features, and statistics are kept for 14 months.
Google Analytics does not load, and Google is not contacted, until you accept. You can refuse, or change your mind later, with “Cookie settings” in the footer; withdrawing removes the Google Analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, and the website does not set a language cookie. If we add a Pinterest tag one day, it will also run only after you accept, and this list will be updated.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to its use, or limit its use. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time. To use these rights, write to contact@elevenmaps.com. We answer within one month. If you think your rights are not respected, you can complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr), the French data protection authority.
Children
ElevenMaps is not intended for people under 15. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
